Knebworth 2022

Knebworth 2022

By Dominic Gunning

Liam Gallagher had a triumphant return to Knebworth after 26 years on Friday 3rd June and Saturday 4th June when he played to a sea of adoring fans (160,000 over the two nights).

Liam, who has recently released his fourth No.1 solo album titled 'C'mon You Know', continues to prove to the world that Rock 'n' Roll is anything but dead and buried!

Here is @rhooserhino wearing our Live Forever Embroidered Champion Jacket who said "It was unbelievable. My best memory by far!"

@alexbarreto1 was rocking the Pink Liam Gallagher Iconic T-Shirt. He said "It was a big big day out seeing the greatest rock 'n' roll star on planet earth. What a weekend. Diamond In The Dark and More Power were mega!"

Sadly, Oasis guitarist Paul Arthurs (Bonehead), who as Liam said gives a “bit of bollocks" to his gigs, was unable to attend the Knebworth shows as he is receiving treatment for tonsil cancer. However, by all accounts that didn't stop Liam and his band from delivering that biblical Oasis sound!

A highlight of the show was when The Stone Roses guitarist (and legend) John Squire came on stage to perform the last song of the night 'Champagne Supernova'. An appearance that repeated the iconic moment at Oasis's Knebworth gigs in 1996. “A big fucking round of applause for the coolest man on the planet,” Liam said to the crowd as he introduced him. “The one and only John fucking Squire.”

Just 5 years ago before Liam's solo career began, he was filmed singing (after many pints of guinness) in a pub in Ireland which went viral on social media. It was met by a response from many in the mainstream media that he was "finished". Well, since then he has headlined festivals, sold out British tours within hours of releasing them and now he has conquered Knebworth. Again. To top it all off he has now secured his fourth solo No.1 album! I can't think of a more impressive musical comeback than that!
